The United Kingdom is ready to advance with using the total value of seized Russia's holdings to support Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be implemented in tight collaboration with the United States.

British penalties have blocked more than £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had solely been taken from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward using the complete amount of the seized Russia's state holdings to end the war.

He noted that further sanctions soon would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This statement is subsequent to European leaders met in the Danish capital previously to debate utilizing frozen Russian assets for a €140bn loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to confiscate or employ frozen Russia's holdings, according to news outlets.

The value of seized Russian funds in the European Union is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow carried out large-scale missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on recently, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.
