Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the international premiere of Wicked: For Good

Loyal fans of the actress are calling for that a individual who jumped a barrier and grabbed the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and rushing toward Grande while the performers made its way down a promenade accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was set to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile features clips of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Express Concern Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote a further comment on Instagram.

A number of fans also faulted event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had assembled in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as many hours before it began.

The film, to be launched on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the acclaimed stage production Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two contrasting witches.

The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten Academy Award nods, securing a pair for best costume and artistic direction.
