Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
